What determines the Star Player in Brawl Stars?

I know this sounds kinda've off-topic, but I'm personally a Brawl Stars Player.
I always wondered how the Brawl Stars Star Player was determined.
I know the Star Player can be on the other team. I'm sure that isn't a glitch.
So if the Star Player is determined by the amount of goals scored, how can only one player be the star player if two players had an equal score?
Or if two people on the winning team scored one goal but the losing team also had one person score a goal? Then how would that work?
You could say it's by chance, but then the Star Player on the losing team would be much more frequent, since there were 3 goals, made by 3 people. The losing team would have a Star Player 1/3 of the time.
So my prediction is that there are multiple stats that come into the Star Player rank, such as kills, deaths, damage done, damage taken, healing done, and whatever is important to that game mode, such as goals.
The quests are determined by damage done, heals and kills. I suppose the opposite would be also quite common. For example, Supercell wouldn't just make damage done and not have damage taken, right?
And since games often count deaths into your leaderboard ranking, I suppose Brawl Stars would also have that too.
